As a child, I couldn’t wait to escape the monotony of my rural hometown.

Yes, small towns have their limitations. But, as an adult, I cherish my experiences.

Five things I loved about growing up in my small town:

1. Two-Finger Wave
   While driving by another car, lift your index and middle fingers of one hand from the steering wheel. Hold the pose until you’ve passed each other. Repeat until you’re “in town.”
